I'm A Trash Picker!!!

Ok, I've wanted a bed for Olivia since she flung herself out of her crib for the first time. I thought she'd be in her crib a lot longer than she was. We ended up needing a twin bed for her very quickly. We just happened to come across one at a garage sale down the street for $10 last year. It's kind of a taco bed, flat and uncomfortable but she only weighs 25lbs so it's fine for now, right? Well, I started dreaming of getting a real bed for her, you know, a headboard, frame and foot board. (We don't even have that!) I looked at Pottery Barn Kids and saved a few pictures of beds ranging from $700-$1100. I read "The Secret", and several months ago I put a catalogue picture of an off white twin bed on my intention board. I just threw the picture out a few weeks ago, thinking there are a lot of things we needed more than a bed (...food, shelter, etc) I didn't want to "confuse the universe"
So, a few days ago, I'm taking Olivia for a walk in Ponderosa Trails (a very upscale neighborhood) and we walk by an off white twin bed, stacked up and laying on curbside. I couldn't believe that someone was throwing this away! I convinced myself that someone had bought it and was just on the way to pick it up. I couldn't stop thinking about it so I drove back over there in the car and the owner was outside. I asked her if she was selling that bed, and she said, no, just take it! She said it is a $1200 bed and she wanted it to go to a good home. I showed her Olivia in the car and told her she would love a "big girl bed."
Rob picked it up and after some minor repairs and adjustments, Olivia has a new bed!
I took some pictures of it today and then looked back on the "dream" pictures I had saved. Not exactly the same, but very similar! I think she'll get many years of use out of it. Now I need to make a dust ruffle for the bottom.
(P.S. I used Picasa to enhance the color on the pictures, I was just messing around)
