Sick Baby

We've had a rough week here because Olivia has had a fever for several days. I took her to the doctor yesterday and after a chest xray they said she had a small area that was suspicious for pneumonia. She is on an antibiotic and much better today but still tired. Today she slept on the couch some while I sewed. Poor baby! I'm hoping tomorrow she'll be even better. She misses her friends so much.

I caught this moment between them. Sometimes they remind me of an old married couple. They are so comfortable together and they communicate without talking. Yes, I know they are only three......I'll stop now before I start planning their wedding!

Olivia missed her friends over the holidays. Isaac came over on Saturday to play and Kendall and Sydney came last night. Isaac and Linus were over this morning again. Olivia is loving all of the playtime with her friends!

We were in Oregon for Christmas, but Liv had some presents at home, too.

We took a drive to Portland one day to see some sights. Ok, I heard there was a Hanna Andersson store in downtown Portland and had to check it out. It was located in the "Pearl District" which was a very cool, artsy, urban downtown shopping area with high rise condos and renovated old storefronts. I could have spent hours there but we just drove through and I snapped a few pictures. It was raining, or just about to rain...big surprise, right? After that, we drove over the bridge to Vancouver, WA. Why? I have never been in Washington and wanted to add it to my list of states I've visited. Olivia was sleeping and it was raining, so we just turned around and drove back to Salem.

Ed drove us all to the coast for lunch at a great seafood restaurant on the water. It took about an hour to get there and it was still snowy and foggy and cold. We really wanted to do some sightseeing while we were there so we drove up the coast a bit and stopped to see a lighthouse.

Santa Came!!!!

Santa was here!!!! He ate some cookies and drank some milk and took two carrots!!

On Christmas Eve, Olivia and I made cookies for Santa like we do each year. We got to use Auntie Laura's Kitchen Aid.....wow do I want one of those! Auntie L and Liv got the plate ready for Santa with cookies, milk and carrots for the reindeer.

At the Museum, there was a "market" where Olivia couls go shopping with her own cart, choose all of her own food and household items, unload them onto a belt and scan and use the pretend cash register. She even bagged her own groceries! We had a hard time getting her away from this room.

On Christmas Eve day, Auntie Laura and Uncle Ed had to work so we visited them at their office in downtown Salem. Uncle Ed was happy to show off his God daughter and it was fun to see where they worked. Then, we went to an amazing little children's museum in Salem. It was called The Gilbert House. After that, on to the Riverfront Carousel to see Santa one last time.
