New Drum

Olivia wanted to have a marching band just like Olivia the Pig. Thank goodness Daddy is handy and creative. He made this out of my empty Folgers container and a strap from a duffel bag! Olivia is very pleased and very busy!

Time for a virtual shopping trip!

love these adorable little skirts (etsy)

PBK wall art "Princess and the Pea"

Days of the week felt hairclips-great for preschool (etsy)

cute sandals from Nordstrom (way too pricey!)

This has nothing to do with anything, but this was what I used when I was a kid. It smelled soooo good. Found this pic on Flickr :)

Ok, these are just about as cute as the Umi's above, but a fraction of the cost. $12.99! (Payless)

Love this clock!!! (Target)

I've had my eye on this bookshelf for Olivia's room. It's from last year, so maybe it's gone by now. Right now, I have her books and stuffed animals on her changing table! That needs to be replaced! (Target)

Olivia's First Trip To The Dentist

My big girl!
Olivia and her dentist
Olivia chose two pinwheels from the goodie trunk.

Today, we took Liv to the dentist for the first time. She has been with me a few times, but this was actually her turn. Anyone who knows me well, knows about my dental fears, so this was bigger for me than it was for her. I spent a lot of time finding a place that would allow me to go back with her. Apparently, the two pediatric dentists in town do not "allow" parents to go back with children who are 3 and older. Excuse me, but sorry, I will be with my three year old wherever she goes because that is my job! I go with her to the doctor, to the store, to the library, to the park, I guess I'm funny that way.
I finally found a clinic that takes our insurance and allowed us to go as a family. I was so ready to fight to protect Olivia against any trauma that I think Rob joined us to make sure I didn't try to fight anyone! It turned out to be easy, fun and a great experience. The dentist was a young, pretty lady that was kind and sweet to Olivia. The assistant turned out to be one of my patients that I took care of during her pregnancy. They counted her teeth, checked for cavities and I'm proud to say, she is cavity free and brushing well! They couldn't take xrays yet because they didn't fit in her tiny mouth. Not surprising, since my mouth is so small!
Olivia did great, and can't wait to return in six months!

It's Official....

I've become my mother! I spent the morning ironing Olivia's dresses! I have needed to clean out her closet forever and so I just dove in and did it! This is what it looks like now. I should have taken a before picture! The top shelves had Bridal magazines that I used to plan our wedding 5 years ago! I took out all of Olivia's spring and summer dresses from last year and ironed up all of her 4T hand-me-downs and her closet is quite full! Poor Olivia, she has no clothes!

Gymnastics

Olivia and I have been going to the "indoor playtime" at the new gymnastics center in town. It's a great new facility with many fun activities like the trampoline, foam pit, rings, balance beams, uneven bars, and more. There are things to climb and jump off and swing from, it's great! This week Daddy came to watch and join in the fun. Notice Olivia's Dora panties hanging out of her leotard, she needs a bigger size leotard, I think!

Happy Birthday Jaron!!

My nephew Jaron turned 7 today! He's the sweetest, smartest, kindest, most adorable boy in the whole world! I miss him and all of my nephews and niece in WI. Hopefully we can get together soon! Happy Birthday, Jaron! We love you!
